When I was in Junior High, I injured my hip. At that point in time, I thought it was a pulled muscle from not stretching before cheer practice. I shrugged it off and though I had pain, I kept cheering and kept riding horses competitively. I dealt with pain off and on it for years.
In my 20s, I was told I had severe arthritis in my hip. It was diagnosed as degenerative arthritis. The pain in it was unbearable if I didn't take my prescribed medications.
